3 ripe bananas, mashed 1/3 cup melted butter 3/4 cup sugar 1 egg, beaten 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp baking soda Pinch of salt 1½ cups all-purpose flour Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix melted butter into mashed bananas. Stir in sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sprinkle in baking soda and salt, then fold in flour until just combined. Pour into a buttered 9×5 loaf pan. Bake 55–65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before slicing. "I have made this recipe every Sunday for 50 years. The secret is to let the bananas get really ripe — almost black on the outside. That's when they're sweetest." — Eleanor

You smelled like lavender and fresh-cut roses, Your kitchen always warm and full of light. You saved our drawings, knew our favorite poses, And made the world feel safe and good and right. We'll miss your laugh, the way you'd call us "honey," The stories you would tell us before bed. The days with you were never sad, but sunny — And in our hearts, you'll never really be dead. With all our love, Jake, Emma, Lily, Noah, Tyler, Grace & Ava
